Sawmill Operator

Are you meticulous and stress-resistant? Do you want a responsible role with varied tasks and good opportunities for learning and development? Then the position of Sawmill Operator at one of our processing lines might be the job for you!

ABOUT THE POSITION

As a sawmill operator in processing, you will take on varied tasks and responsibilities. Common work tasks include:

  • operation and monitoring of machines and equipment within the production line
  • ensuring product quality through visual inspection and measurement
  • identifying and addressing technical problems that may arise during operation
  • performing machine settings and adjustments for different product categories
  • participating in preventive maintenance and simple corrective actions

In this recruitment, we are looking for two sawmill operators, one for our painting line and one for our planing mill.

IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE ARE

  • interest in working in a production environment
  • willingness to learn and develop in wood and technology

  • ability to work at varying paces
  • good communication and collaboration skills
  • availability to work shifts and irregular hours

We are constantly working on improving the work environment, for example by eliminating risks and safety deficiencies. However, the work as a sawmill operator means that you will be in an industrial environment where noise, physical tasks, and varying working positions occur to different degrees. You need to have good physical ability, for example, being able to work standing for long periods and also being able to perform tasks both indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures. Working with machines and moving parts places high demands on safety and risk awareness to prevent accidents and injuries.

PREFERABLE, BUT NOT REQUIRED, ARE

  • previous experience in the wood industry
  • experience from other manufacturing industries
  • education in industry and/or wood technology

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Permanent employment starting with a 6-month probationary period, start date by agreement. Salary and other conditions in accordance with collective agreements. Background checks are a natural part of this recruitment.

We have evolved into a group, from saw chain to retail chain. Today, Stenvalls owns 10 XL-BYGG stores. In the group, we have also developed several other companies in various specialties, including Kallax Flyg and Genesis IT. A development journey that we have only just begun.
